At about 7:30am on Monday, 4th January, the raffia city of Ikot Ekpene local government area stood still in amazement and awe for Felix Ekuri over his gesture in feting motorists in the city.
Ekuri, the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Grassroot Mobilization as part of his new year’s gift to humanity and drive of ameliorating the plight of motorists (motorcycle riders), gave free premium motor oil to more than 100 riders in the city of Ikot Ekpene.
The free fuel which was given at Forte Oil, Aba road, Ikot Ekpene had motorists who had set out for the day’s hustle rejoicing and praying blessings on the governor’s aide, and Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Speaking shortly receiving the free fuel, a beneficiary, Mrs Happiness Solomon hinted that she was shocked to see that a common rider in the street of Ikot Ekpene could benefit from government freebies.
Other beneficiaries who were seen chanting ‘government’ prayed abundant blessings on the governor’s aide. They explained that the gesture was timely, and a prove indication that the government of Udom Emmanuel has the people at heart.
Earlier, the Governor’s Aide while wishing the motorists a happy new year celebration explained that the move was to help put smiles on their faces and to ease the cost of buying fuel and to show the government has them at heart.
