Death is one surefooted road for all mortals. Even with the knowledge of this uncanny stranger, the heavy hearts and burden it throws on people especially when they’re not ready to part ways with their loved ones can only be imagined not told.
Life was all so rosy for Flt LT. Alfred Olufade and his wife when they exchanged vows before God and men in February, 2021. None of this beautiful couple imagined that a life well prepared and projected forever will be cut abruptly by Nigeria.
On Friday, 22nd May, the unexpected happened. Flt LT. Olufade alongside 10 other military officers died in an ill-fated plane crash in Kaduna State.
The Beachcraft 350 aircraft conveying the Army Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others had crashed around 6pm on Friday, in Kaduna.

2. Brig. Gen. Olayinka
3. Brig. Gen. Kuliya
4. Maj. La Hayatu
5. Maj. Hamza
6. Sgt. Umar

The departed military officers were laid to rest on Saturday at the National Military Cemetary, Abuja amidst tears and deep sadness.
Also, President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo were reportedly absent from the burial.
Since the death of these top military ranking officers, many Nigerians have continued to condole and pray for the families of the departed officers.
Among Nigerians who have visited the families of the departed officers was the wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo.
Osinbajo, on Sunday made a stop over at the Abuja-based residences of the officers 3 at Naval base and 4 Niger Barracks to console with the families of the departed officers.
Osinbajo was also seen in an amateur video consoling the widow of Olufade who was seen wearing a black dress and looking gloomy.
Meanwhile, other Nigerians have continued to pray for the sweet repose of the souls of the departed officers.
