A popular socio political group in Akwa Ibom state known as Concerned Akwa Ibom youth Forum has reaffirmed its commitment to the course of building the State to the expectations of her teeming citizens.
Speaking during a meeting which was held on Sunday February 27 in Uyo, the forum’s national Coordinator, Dr. Abia Dan-Abia highlighted that the group was established on the tripod of Unity, Love and Youth Development.
He encouraged the membership of the forum to grab the opportunity come 2023 and exercise their franchise by making sure they vote into office leaders that will make the youth concerns which are ; Education, job creation, Security and an enabling environment for budding entrepreneurs their priorities.
The meeting which had adoption of gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 elections as one of its agenda started on a quite interesting note.
The forum unanimously adopted and further passed a vote of confidence on Obong Akan Udofia maintaining that he has the characteristics of the kind of leader who will truly complement the industrialisation scheme of Gov.Udom Emmanuel.
In their separate comments , Mr.Paul Inyang, Ekaette Joseph, Zachariah Emah and Okon Etukudo thanked the coordinator for guiding them on the right direction.
They each confirmed that Obong Udofia has contributed immensely to the growth of the state , highlighting that he has donated a 100 million naira to the proposed building of Akwa Ibom State University Teaching Hospital in Onna and has initiated and completed the building of a well furnished hostel for use by the Students of Akwa Ibom State University, Mkpat Enin.
In human capacity development, Obong Akan Udofia runs Desicon company which has a staff strength of 2000 Akwa Ibom youth, they stated clearly that he has touched lives over the years and will impact greatly in the state if given the opportunity to work as the lead servant.
In a vote of thanks by the National Coordinator, Dr.Abia, he thanked all the representatives of the forum across the 31 Local Governments of the state for being physically present at the converge and declared in clear terms that the forum which has over 3,500 members across the state with an average of 150 members per Local Government will throw the weight of their unflinching support behind Obong Akan Udofia and also pleaded with the Peoples Democratic Party to keep to its promises of offering a leveled playing ground for fairplay, equity and justice.
The meeting which was well attended by Youths, Elders ,Stakeholders, Party men and women ended with a closing prayer and an adoption for next meeting which will be announced through a circular by the National Publicity Secretary of the Forum.
