Talented Nigerians in spite of the devil-staring situation in the country have continued to shine and hold high the Nigerian flag in different competitions in far away countries.
Recall, last week the world’s light shone on Nigeria when Tobi Amusan, a track and field athlete won the Oregon 2022, World Athletics Championship 100 metres Hurdles and setting a new World Record.
Amusan set a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed by a 12.06 seconds record in the final to win the gold medal, making her the first Nigerian World Champion in an athletics event.
Still on the table of victory for Nigeria, Ese Brume, a long jump athlete won Silver medal in the game.

Again, on Saturday night in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, weightlifter Adijat Olarinoye won Gold Medal and set a new Commonwealth Games Record.
The 23years old Olarinoye won Gold by lifting a combined total lift of 203kg – 92kg in Snatch and 111 in Clean & Jerk – to win the 55kg Women’s Weightlifting event and also setting a new African record.
Olarinoye’s gold places Nigeria ninth on the medals table, which has Australia in first place with 13 gold, eight silver and 11 bronze medal.
