Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey has been honoured with the maiden Emmanuel Award for Excellence in Gospel Music Ministry at Akwa Ibom Carol Festival 2022.
The award was presented by the State Governor, Udom Emmanuel at Ibom Hall Arena.
The award is instituted by the state governor to honour a gospel artist who has contributed immensely to the body of Christ through gospel music.
Nathaniel Bassey, who is an Akwa Ibom native and whose Hallelujah challenge has continued to win souls from within and outside of the country was also gifted the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars.
Governor Udom also honoured the Event Coordinator, Mr. Aniekpeno Mkpanang for his consistent work he has done over the years to make the Carol Festival a success.

Before Aniekpeno Mkpanang was honoured by the state governor, he paid glowing tributes to Late Sammie Okposo who had performed at previous edition of the State Christmas Carol.
Gospel artists that performed at the Carol were; Solomon Moses, Hezekiah Walker, Aity Dennis, Buchi, Nathaniel Bassey, Ronke Adesokan, Sonnie Badu, Sinach, Eben, Jonathan Nelson.
Politicians that were present at the event include: Governor Ademola Adeleke, Dino Melaye, Governor Okowa, Governor Godwin Obaseki, Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
