The Nigerian Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has called for the immediate arrest of Seun Kuti.
The directive was issued in an official statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, as a response to a video that recently surfaced, capturing the musician allegedly assaulting a police officer in uniform on the bustling Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
On Friday, a video captured Seun Kuti, the son of the legendary musician Fela Kuti, engaged in an unprovoked physical confrontation with a police officer, slapping and pushing him.

The IGP has not taken this matter lightly, promptly initiating a speedy and comprehensive investigation to determine both the immediate and remote causes of the assault.
The intent is to gather all the necessary evidence required for a successful prosecution of the suspect.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has assured the Nigerian public that acts of contempt or disdain towards symbols of authority will not be tolerated.
He reiterated that offenders involved in such hideous crimes will be swiftly brought to justice, serving as a stern warning to others who may consider similar actions.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.
The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.
IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.
