The unprecedented wave of talent discovery, harnessing and fine-tuning about to hit every fabric of Akwa Ibom following the launch of DISCOVER ME PROJECT 3.0 for children between age 4-17 might be the dire solution to curbing the tide of negative influences among children.
Discover Me Project 3.0, a healthy competitive kids talent hunt and first of its kind in Akwa Ibom State, is birthed with a view to assist gifted Akwa Ibom children own their spaces and manifest talents they’re blessed with, the project general manager disclosed.
Briefing newsmen in Uyo on Sunday, 20th February, at the Driims Studios premises on why the project was birthed specifically in Akwa Ibom State, General Manager of Discover Me Project 3.0, Amb. Franklin Richard revealed that
“INSPIRE NIGERIA CHILD PROJECT or discover me is a consciously designed platform to carry out mental reorientation exercises for our children against the present negative influences they are daily exposed to, using strategically developed programs to sensitize and enlighten them on the need for change.
“It will also help them appreciate why they must not engage in social vices but channel their talents into creative endeavours through well-guided self-development programs and exposures”.
Richard disclosed that the brand, a creative innovation and concept envisioned to stir up the spirit of kids with a task to uncover kids who will wear crowns as Nigeria Kids New Bundle of Brains and Charm will have kids selected from various school platforms, categorized into age cadre from age 4 to 7 little Junior category, age 8 to 11 little senior and 12 to 17 Senior category respectively auditioned for the task ahead.
The project manager hinted that the vision started 15years ago in the city of Port Harcourt following the upsurge of cultism among young people in schools which had helped curb the menace; was deemed necessary to be replicated in Akwa Ibom State, to help address the menace of social vices and to help every gifted Akwa Ibom child become the next star kid.
He noted that through strategically planned programs, the qualified kids will be moulded, groomed and nurtured to become ambassadors and models who will contribute to the nation’s growing profile.
The DMP General Manager added that winners will be feted to whooping prizes ranging from cash prize, school fees allowance for one year, brand endorsement for ‘safe the Nigerian Child Project and they will also be empowered to reach out to other kids and affect them positively through well-developed programs and activities.
While encouraging parents to discover what’s embedded in their children, he disclosed that the project will start from March 12 and run till May 27.
On his part, Amb. Moses Armstrong, the Director of the project stressed that talent discovery at early age must form the fulcrum of child raising and breeding as this helps parents channel energy to investing in what their kids are good at.
He called on parents to take full advantage of the platform created by DMP and avail their kids for the audition by picking the form at 65 Enwe street, Uyo.
