Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno on Monday, 24 July launched a policy document that will form the blueprint and roadmap for the development of the State.
The A.R.I.S.E. Agenda is a comprehensive governance document that aims to propel the state to greater heights of prosperity and development.
The launch took place during the Akwa Ibom Dialogue, a policy talk shop that gathered guests, policy experts, and former government officials, including the immediate past Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
‘’The ARISE Agenda is an acronym that stands for five bold aspirations: Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development. Infrastructural Maintenance and Advancement, Security Management, Educational, and Health Sector.
This is further broken down into 17 Focal Sectors, detailing what we expect to achieve in each of the sectors, in the short to medium and long terms. To add more flesh to what we have proposed to achieve in these sectors is what informed the need for this dialogue.’’
Addressing the attendees, Governor Umo Eno expressed commitment to fostering an inclusive government by seeking input from Akwa Ibomites across party lines and policy experts from around the nation and the Diaspora.
The Governor emphasized the importance of involving the people of Akwa Ibom in the formulation and implementation of the A.R.I.S.E. Agenda to ensure a collective buy-in and ownership of the development plans.
Elaborating on the document, Governor Eno highlighted his administration’s dedication to improving living conditions in rural areas by investing in economically viable roads and healthcare facilities.
He also underscored the plan to ignite an agricultural revolution, establish model schools, and promote skills acquisition initiatives for the youth.

Similarly, Governor Eno expressed optimism that the collaborative efforts of the government and the people of Akwa Ibom, as well as potential investors, would lead to the state’s shared prosperity and growth.

He assured the public of a transparent process and pledged to publish the conclusions in the final roadmap.
With the launch of the A.R.I.S.E. Agenda, Governor Umo Eno sets the stage for a new era of progress and prosperity for the people of Akwa Ibom State.
On his part, Mr Udom Emmanuel who served as the special guest of honour lent further weight to the occasion.
The former Governor commended Pastor Eno for his dedication to development, transformation, and transition, expressing optimism that the dialogue would facilitate robust engagement across various sectors.
Udom noted that the ultimate goal is to produce a robust document that will accelerate the overall growth and prosperity of Akwa Ibom and called on all Akwa Ibom residents, irrespective of political or religious affiliations, to rally behind Governor Eno’s vision for the state.
He highlighted the significance of tapping into the state’s rich human resources, underscoring the potential of the A.R.I.S.E. Agenda to elevate Akwa Ibom as a beacon of progress in Africa.
Also, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the Chairman of the occasion, lauded Governor Eno’s inclusive approach to governance.
He praised his efforts in bringing valuable indigenes together to brainstorm ideas for the state’s advancement.
He emphasized that effective implementation holds the key to turning ambitious development plans into tangible achievements.
Former Governor Obong Victor Attah, in his speech, expressed deep admiration for Governor Eno’s commitment to revitalizing the Akwa Ibom dream through the A.R.I.S.E. Agenda.
He handed over a collection of documents containing valuable insights and methodologies to aid in the effective execution of the vision.

Atuekong Don Etiebet, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), echoed the sentiment of unity, commending Governor Umo Eno for bridging political divides and rallying all Akwa Ibomites around a shared aspiration for progress.
