Governor Umo Eno has outlined his administration’s key focus areas, which include tourism, education, and healthcare delivery.
He also emphasized the importance of rural development, youth development, and agriculture.
Taking his oath of office alongside his Deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Governor Eno expressed his determination to overcome challenges and encouraged others to believe in their ability to succeed.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Ekaette Obot.
During his speech, Governor Eno highlighted the achievements of notable individuals from Akwa Ibom State, such as Hilda Bassey, Enoh Ebong, and Ime Udoka, and pledged to create an enabling environment for youth to thrive beyond political appointments.
He praised the State’s advancements in aviation, foreign direct investments, and improvements in education and healthcare initiated by his predecessor, noting that these records forms as stage for further economic growth.
Governor Eno stressed the importance of a comprehensive road network for economic development and promised to invest in agriculture, aiming to revolutionize the sector.

He also pledged to enhance the lives of rural communities, promote food security, and exploit the blue economy, ensuring fair compensation for fishermen.

Similarly, Governor Eno committed to digitalizing the civil service, prioritizing the welfare of civil servants, and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit aligned with the state’s “dakkada” ethos.
Governor Eno echoed the advice of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to utilize the new roads for agricultural advancement, emphasizing the pivotal role of agriculture in the state’s future.

He reiterated his commitment to promoting business, tourism, and leisure opportunities as a means to attract foreign investors and bolster the state’s economy.
He noted that these sectors have great potential for growth and emphasized his administration’s dedication to capitalizing on these opportunities.
In the education sector, Governor Eno pledged to equip public schools with modern facilities and employ passionate teachers capable of imparting vital ICT and entrepreneurial skills to the younger generation.
On healthcare, Governor Eno pointed out that healthcare, power, tourism, and human capacity development require substantial investments for the accelerated growth and development of the state and its people.
He emphasized the importance of citizens’ support and partnership for the realization of his plans, calling for unity and reconciliation among the Akwa Ibom people to work collectively for the betterment of the state.
