Gunmen have attacked and killed two Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel and two staff members of MTN, a telecommunications company in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria.
The incident occurred on Monday at Ekelsu Market, Obiangwu, in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area.
The attackers escaped with the service rifles of the slain security officials.
According to an anonymous resident, a joint team of security agencies consisting mainly of the police and military arrived at the scene of the attack in Ekelsu Market, Obiangwu, to prevent a possible breakdown of law and order.

The soldiers also evacuated the bodies of the slain NSCDC members, identified as Assistant Superintendent 2 Sixtus Onwusuruke and Corps Assistant 1 Simon Simon.
Chimeziri Lowell, the Chief Superintendent and spokesperson for the NSCDC in Imo State, confirmed the attack, stating that the personnel were on a routine patrol to monitor critical national assets when they were ambushed and killed.
Mr. Lowell also confirmed that two MTN officials were among those killed during the attack.
