LP Chairman Exposes APC’s Alleged Plot for Rerun Election

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, has unveiled what he claims to be a clandestine plan by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to prepare for a possible rerun election.

The move comes as the APC allegedly faces a challenging political landscape, with public sentiment heavily tilted against it.

Speaking during an online meeting with the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy, Barrister Abure called on the party’s massive membership, estimated to exceed 10 million, to remain vigilant.

He also called on them to be ready to deliver another humiliating defeat to the APC in future polls if their alleged sinister plot materializes.

Expressing his concerns, Abure stated, “Rumors have it that those in government are already planning for a rerun, and this is something we need your support for.

“We must also prepare ourselves because if the government is getting ready for a rerun, we should not be caught off guard.”

While emphasizing the Labour Party’s preference for the outright declaration of Peter Obi as President of Nigeria, Abure acknowledged the possibility of a rerun election if the current government’s efforts succeed.

He asserted, “We believe strongly that we won that election based on the statistics and results we have. We are not expecting anything less than the declaration of Peter Obi as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. However, in case the government’s plan for a rerun materializes, we should also be prepared for it.”

The LP Chairman reassured party members that all the necessary evidence has been presented to the court, expressing hope for a favorable outcome in the tribunal and even in the Supreme Court, should the case reach that stage.

He encouraged the party to build on its recent successes and strategically position itself as a formidable force to champion the rights of the downtrodden people of Nigeria.

Adding to the discussion, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, Director of the ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, urged members of the diaspora to consider the struggle for reclaiming their mandate as a collective responsibility that cannot be abandoned for any reason.

He emphasized the importance of harnessing the enormous human capital within the diaspora community and channeling it towards the development of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Professor Eddie Oparaoji, Chairman of the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy, highlighted the potential of their coalition, along with all Obidients in the diaspora, to significantly contribute to Nigeria’s progress.

By engaging in advocacy, promoting human rights, capacity building, investment, education, healthcare support, and policy advocacy, the diaspora community can play a pivotal role in fostering democratic governance, justice, and socio-economic advancement in the country.
