The Labour Party has spoken out against what it perceives as the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) attempts to hold on to power through deceptive means even after elections.
Despite the elections being over a month ago, the alleged subterfuge perpetrated by the ruling party continues to linger in the minds of the opposition party.
Through a statement jointly signed by Diran Onifade, the Head of Obi-Datti Media, and Dr Yunusa Tanko, the Chief Spokesperson, the Labour Party stated that it was determined to follow the constitutional path to seek redress.
However, it lamented that the APC had resorted to underhanded tactics and endless deceit to remain in power.

The statement went on to highlight some of the APC’s dubious actions, including the show of shame in Portharcourt and the drama aboard the Ibom Air aircraft, both of which were allegedly contrived by the ruling party.
The LP also accused the APC of circulating a deep fake audio file aimed at promoting religious tension in the country.
All of these, according to the opposition party, were intended to demarket Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential candidate.
However, the Labour Party expressed confidence in the credibility of Peter Obi, stating that he had urged Nigerians not to vote for him based on religion or tribe.
The opposition party then advised Nigerians to remain focused on the task of taking back the mandate they believe was freely given to Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, through legitimate means.
In conclusion, the Labour Party took a swipe at the APC, stating that the ruling party’s attempts to cling to power through fraudulent means were a reflection of its true character.
Despite these challenges, the LP remained determined to continue fighting for what it believed was right and just.

“From the show of shame in Port harcourt to the drama in the Ibom Air aircraft, both of which they contrived, they have now moved to the circulation of a deep fake audio file aimed at promoting religious tension in the country.
“All these are meant to serve no other purpose than egregious mischief aimed at demarketing Peter Obi.
“If the goal is to create a credibility problem, the ploy has failed woefully. Peter Obi has long been on record as the only presidential candidate who has urged the Nigerians electorate not to vote for him on the basis of religion or tribe.
“We will therefore like to advice our beloved Nigerian people to remain focused on the task to take back the mandate we know was freely given to Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed through legitimate means.
“That is more important than to expect those who ran election on forged credentials and even fake Bishops to stop faking.
“They cannot stop being fraudulent because that is who they are”.
