Chief Raymond Dokpesi, a prominent media mogul and founder of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM is dead.
The deceased’s first son, Dokpesi Jnr confirmed the news on Monday afternoon via a release.
He was age 71.
In a statement signed by the family and dated Monday, May 29, 2023, they expressed the family’s grief and extended gratitude for the outpour of condolences from across Nigeria.
Dokpesi Jnr described his father as a beloved figure, a pillar of strength, and a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He noted that despite his father’s health setback, Dokpesi had been actively managing his well-being and was undergoing occupational therapy to improve his daily activities.
He explained that his father’s condition took an unexpected turn, leading to his untimely demise.
