1. ALEX OTTI – GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE

• Alex Otti is a Nigerian banker turned politician who was declared governor-elect of Abia state on May 29, 2023..

• Umo Eno, the lead pastor and founder of All Nations Christian Ministry International, made history on May 29 by becoming the first clergy to become a governor in Akwa Ibom State.
• Born on May 10, 1964, in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit-Ubium, Akwa Ibom state, Eno pursued his education in Lagos and Akwa Ibom, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Uyo.
• Prior to entering politics, he worked in various organizations, including Union Bank, Bertola Machine Tool Nigeria Limited, and Norman Holdings Limited, before establishing his own business, Royalty Group.
• In January 2021, Eno was appointed as a member of the executive council by Governor Emmanuel Udom, serving as the Commissioner of Land and Water Resources.
• During his tenure, he focused on land recovery, compensating those whose land had been acquired by the government for public projects.
• He owns Royalty Group, an hospitality facility in Ewet housing estate.

4. Rev Fr. HYACINTH ALIA – GOVERNOR OF BENUE STATE

• Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, a Roman Catholic Priest, emerged victorious in the Benue State gubernatorial election held on March 18, 2023, becoming the second priest to be elected as governor in Nigeria.
• Born on May 14, 1966, in Mbangur, Mbadede, Vandeikya Local government of Benue, Alia attended St Francis Primary School and St James Minor Seminary before studying at St Augustine’s Major Seminary in Jos, where he obtained a diploma in Religious Study and later a Bachelor’s in Sacred Theology.
• He further pursued his education by earning a Masters in Religious Education (Psychology and Counselling) from Fordham University in New York and a Masters in Biomedical Ethics, followed by a doctorate degree, from Duquesne University in Pennsylvania in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
• Ordained as a Catholic Priest on July 7, 1990, by Bishop Athanasius Atule Usuh of Makurdi Catholic Diocese, Alia gained international experience in educational management and healthcare administration.
• He served as the Director of Pastoral Services at the Catholic Health Service in North Campus Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, United States of America.
• Alia is a member of various organizations, including the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, the Catholic Health Service System Wide Ethics Committee, and the Broward Ethics Committee.

5. RT. HON. SHERIFF OROHWEDOR OBOREVWORI (JP) – GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE

• He was born on June 19, 1963, in Delta State, Nigeria.
• He completed his primary education at Alegbo Primary School and obtained his WASSC from Oghareki Grammar School.
• He holds a B.Sc. degree in Political Science from Ambrose Alli University and an M.Sc. in Political Science from Delta State University.

• Alhaji Namadi was born in April 1963 in Kafin Hausa town of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

11. DIKKO UMAR RADDA – GOVERNOR, KATSINA STATE

• He is a Nigerian economist, politician, and the current governor of Katsina State, assuming office on May 29, 2023.
• He was born on September 10, 1969, in Hayin Gada Town, Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria.
• Radda received his education at various institutions, including Radda Primary School, Zaria Teachers College, Kafanchan College of Education, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, and Ahmadu Bello University.

• He is the governor of Kebbi State.
• Idris previously held positions as the national president of the Nigerian Union of Teachers and deputy president of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

13. MOHAMMED UMAR BAGO – GOVERNOR OF NIGER STATE

• He was born on February 22, 1974, is a Nigerian politician from Minna, Niger State, and belongs to the Nupe ethnic group.
• He is a member of parliament representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency and is affiliated with the APC Party.
• In the 9th National Assembly, he contested for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives but came in second to Femi Gbajabiamila.
• Bago has emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Niger State for the upcoming 2023 general elections.

21. BABAGANA UMARA ZULUM – GOVERNOR, BORNO STATE

• He grew up in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious village, with his father being the current traditional ruler and his grandfather being the first traditional ruler of Gudi station.
• Abdullahi Sule attended the Roman Catholic Mission Primary School and later Zang Secondary Commercial School.
• After completing his education, he did his national service with the Plateau Utilities Board and then worked at the Jos Steel Rolling Company as a production engineer.
• He later moved to the United States and worked for various companies in Texas, holding different roles in engineering and business development.
• Abdullahi Sule returned to Nigeria in 2000 and co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited. The company participated in the privatization of African Petroleum Plc and Abdullahi Sule became the MD/CEO.
• He also served as a director in various companies, including IMB International Bank, Ulti-Care Pharmaceutical, and Chrismatel Holdings.
• In 2006, he joined Tetra International, an American multinational oil service company, as a Director of Business Development/Country Manager.
• Abdullahi Sule was the Group Managing Director of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc from 2011 to 2018 before stepping down to run for the Nasarawa governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.

26. DAPO ABIODUN – GOVERNOR, OGUN STATE

• He was born on May 29, 1960, in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, into a family of teachers.

• Abiodun studied Civil Engineering at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) but later graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Kennesaw State University in the United States.

• Makinde initially aspired to be a musician or a boxer before venturing into politics.

28. MAI MALA BUNI – GOVERNOR, YOBE STATE

• He is a Nigerian politician and the current governor of Yobe State since 2019.
• He was elected as governor during the 2019 Nigeria general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
• Before becoming governor, Buni served as the national secretary of the APC.
• Buni was born on November 19, 1967, in Buni Yadi, Gujba, in what was then North-Eastern State.
