Nigerians on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter are not having a chill over President Muhammadu Buhari’s inciting war talk yesterday.
Recall, Buhari while receiving in audience officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had said he will no longer condone the destruction of government facilities by miscreants in the country.
The President who sent a stern warning to those he described as enemies of Nigeria had referenced the travails of the 1967 Nigerian Civil War, noting that presidency will go tough on these persons sooner or later.
Buhari had said, ”many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War.
Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
The statement from President Buhari has generated negative reactions especially from indigenes of the South-East who were the major victims of the 1967-1970 civil war.
The reactors who are basically young people from the East have accused the President for killing their forefathers in the Civil war and also threatening to unleash mayhem on their children in 2021.
While expressing sadness over the statement from President Buhari, they called on the CEO of Twitter, Jack to disband Buhari’s account @MBuhari from the platform for inciting genocide talk on Nigerians.
