Two days after a lady identified as Ameerah Sufyan made a distress tweet about her abduction alongside 16 Others in Abuja, Nigerians have called out Federal Government for ‘dilly dallying’ with citizen’s lives.
The call came following an established contact and detailed information given to the police by Ameerah from her kidnapper’s den.
On 14th June, precisely about 1:16pm, a Twitter user with the name @Ameerah_sufyan had personally tweeted how men disguised in police uniform kidnapped them in Abuja at gunpoint.
In the tweet, she informed the public and close contacts that she had dropped details of their current location on her WhatsApp and called for help.
She also disclosed in the tweet that 16 other persons including three pregnant women and children were among the abductees.
From the information on her Twitter bio, the abducted lady is an Arabic tutor and Psychotherapist.
Following the disappearance of the lady and 16 others, Nigerians took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to blast federal government for playing levity with life of its citizens.
The blame comes on the wheels of constant kidnapping and killings recorded in the North and some part of the country by unknown gunmen.
In a series of tweets, concerned users who called out President Muhammadu Buhari for his silent on the issue.
They wondered why it appeared difficult to track Ameerah despite sharing information their hideout.
Some of the concerned users who shared their thoughts said that the kidnapping of Ameerah and others was a typical reality of Nigeria and a statement to show no citizen is safe.

Earlier on 15th June about 12:47pm, the FCT Police Command @policeng_fct in a tweet disclosed that investigative had been launched and contact with the victim’s family maintained to help speed up their rescue.

The FCT Police Command wishes to update the general public on the above as follows; The investigative & tactical apparatus on the case remains as discoveries are looking promising. Contact is maintained with her family to speed up investigation.
We all desire to see them free, we are working. your ears itch to ear the depth uncovered by the Police. Don’t you think to say too much right here is to endanger the victims? We urge you all to trust the Police and exercise patience while we remain on top of the situation.”
