Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has been arrested by the police following the expiration of a 72-hour ultimatum given to him to turn himself in.
It was alleged that he had manhandled some police officers at his Odogu bar in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State.
Videos had emerged on the internet, showing Portable raining curses on the officers and engaging in unruly behaviour.
The Force Headquarters in Abuja had condemned the singer’s actions, stating that his behaviour was punishable under the law.
The Ogun State Police Command had also issued a press statement, asking Portable to turn himself in at any police station within the state or face police arrest once the ultimatum elapsed.

Despite being given five invitations, including one through his father, Portable had failed to honour any of them, leading to his eventual arrest.
He was currently cooling his heels at the Force Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, and would remain in police custody until Monday, when he would be charged to court.
According to the police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, Portable had been invited following a petition by a young studio owner who had claimed that Portable and his aides had beaten him up and locked his studio.
In the videos, Portable had claimed that the police officers had been brought to his bar by an alleged Internet fraudster, and that they had no reason to arrest him and his staff members.
The incident had sent shockwaves through the music industry, with fans and colleagues alike expressing their disappointment at the singer’s behaviour.
Many had called on Portable to turn himself in and face the consequences of his actions.
