Portugal has slammed Switzerland 6:1 to qualify for Quarter finals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Portugal became the latest team in the round of 16 to make the last eight of this year’s FIFA World Cup.
21-years-old Goncalo Ramos gave Portugal the early lead on his first ever start for his nation.
40 years old Pepe scored Portugal’s second goal on the 33rd minute, making him the oldest player to score in a knockout game at the FIFA World Cup.
Portugal held the 2-0 lead heading to half time.
Ramos added the third goal for Portugal on the 51st minute before assisting Raphael Guerreiro to get Portugal’s fourth goal on the 55th minute.
Switzerland pulled a goal back through Manuel Akanji on the 58th minute.
Ramos completed his hat-trick with another goal for Portugal before Rafael Leao scored Portugal’s final goal in the added time to seal the win.
Portugal’s qualification for the quarter-finals is their first since 2006.
