…2022-2023 “IMAGINE ROTARY” BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND NEW MEMBERS TO BE OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED.
The Rotary Club of Uyo Capital City will on Saturday, 30th July, 2022 officially install Rotn. Abimbola Oke as its 2nd President.
The event is billed to take place at Francines Place Hotel, 26 Ewet-Akakpo Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Club which was birthed and chartered in May 19, 2021 is a member of Rotary International under Rotary District 9142 which comprises of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States.
Rotary International is a humanitarian service organization which brings together business and professional leaders to provide community service, promote integrity, and advance goodwill, peace, and understanding in the world.
Rotary Club of Uyo Capital City, also known as the “City Club”, is blessed with very passionate Rotarians who believe in a shared responsibility to take action on the world’s most persistent challenges and have consistently contributed their quota in adding value to our communities and lives.
The Club, in line with Rotary International avenues of service, has championed the cause of mankind by promoting peace; combating diseases; providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; support maternal and child health; supporting education; growing local economies and protecting the environment for the general wellbeing of humanity.
Rotn. Abimbola Oke, the incoming President of the City Club, is an Architect by training.
He is a Principal Consultant at OmniArch Nigeria, a firm of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors as well as the Managing Director of Omni-Arch Integrated Associates Nig. Ltd, a consulting and construction management company based in Uyo, Nigeria.
He is also an Architectural Educator; an Academic staff with the Department of Architecture, University of Uyo.
Rotn. Abimbola Oke was the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Akwa Ibom State Chapter and presently an ordained Pastor with the Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel).
In a statement made available to the press, the incoming President, Rotn. Abimbola, disclosed that as part of the activities lined up for the installation ceremony there will be a tree planting project in line with Rotary’s 7th area of focus which is on supporting the environment because keeping the environment clean is key to humanity.
He stated that the project will help achieve a greener and healthier environment for humanity.
Rotn. Oke also noted that there will be a fund-raising session during the installation to help assist the Club achieve its financial target to enable his administration carry out her service projects for the Imagine Rotary Year 2022-2023.
