Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Ors Win Big at 2022 Headies Award {SEE FULL LIST OF WINNERS}

The Headies Awards which celebrates outstanding acts and emerging talents within the Nigerian Music Industry held yesterday, September 4th.

This time, the award which is the 15th Edition was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta Georgia, USA.

Organizers of the awards, this time went further to spice up the show by expanding the categories to accommodate artistes from other African countries. 

The show was hosted by Black American actor, Anthony Anderson and Nigerian award winning actor, Osas Ighodaro.

The award served as a night for outstanding acts to be celebrated.

Artistes like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Adekunle Gold and Tems won in their different nominated categories.

Wizkid was the most nominated artist for the award ceremony with 10 nominations; followed by Ayra Starr and Tems, each with eight nominations. Adekunle Gold and Davido were tied with seven nominations each.

After last night’s win, Wizkid becomes the most decorated Artiste in Headies Awards history with 20 Awards in total.

The prestigious award was without sizzling moments as Pheelz opened the show with the first scintillating musical performance for the night.

In the non-musical categories, Sunday Are, Bose Ogulu and Efe Omorogbe received the Headies Special Recognition Award (Entertainment Industry).  

Also, Davido won the Headies Humanitarian Award of the year.

Angelique Kidjo, Multiple Grammys Award-winning Artiste wasn’t left out as she took home the Hall of Fame Award following her legendary status in the African Music Industry.
